Tyler Stenson on Willamette Week Local Cut

Sometime in February, my song Babysitting the Cowboy was featured as a Willamette Week Local Cut of the Day. Riding the momentum of the PSA Award and upcoming album See That Gleam, I’m hoping to get much more press like this one to continue to spread the word. Click here or on the image above to see the full Local Cut post and read the author’s interesting interpretation of the Babysitting the Cowboy story. I always love hearing a third-party analysis of my songs but of course, if you view the comments, I had to leave a note from the writer… telling the true inspiration behind Babysitting the Cowboy.

Lander Road Trip to Kemmerer WY

We’re back! Lander loaded up the van this weekend and took a road-trip to Salt Lake City and Kemmerer Wyoming. Following Tuesday’s cd release party at the Doug Fir Lounge, we hit the road to promote the new album orange chrome sky. We played a great show at the Tahitian Noni World Headquarters in Provo, UT and the Oyster Ridge Music Festival in Kemmerer, WY. Both were great events and the album was received extremely well.

A special thanks to Chris at Tahitian Noni and the crew at the Oyster Ridge Music Festival for supporting Lander and letting us play our music for you. We had a an amazing trip and we’ll be doing it again really soon.
Until then, check out the new album and check-in from time-to-time to see if we’re playing in your area!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-

July 25th marks the date for local band Lander to release the highly anticipated debut album orange chrome sky at the Doug Fir Lounge PDX- a starting block for a northwest tour.

PORTLAND, OR Lander was formed with the idea to create a unique sound; epic-folk. In a Portland basement in December, the band self-produced a mock album that set the stage for the upcoming studio experience.

For the past 5 months the Lander studio album has been crafted under the production of Rob Stroup at 8 Ball Studio, PDX. The 11 track debut infuses folk compositions with timeless rock n’ roll melody. Sentimental, sincere, even romantic, the song lyrics and mood’s stir up an emotional history that is the tragedy of the common: love and heartbreak, glory and ruin, pride and humility. Imagine campfires, long dirt roads and the epic story that is life… you have begun to imagine the sound of Lander’s orange chrome sky.

-we could be in the atmosphere.

Lander debuts orange chrome sky

Big news! The album is done! We’ve been scheming this album for 3 years. We’ve been recording rigorously since November. Needless to say, it was a long process but WELL worth the time. orange chrome sky is definitely an album you’ll want to check out.

With that said, I hope your calendars are clear because you’re cordially invited to join us next Tuesday July 25 at the Doug Fir Lounge for our debut album release! We’ve teamed up with Sameunderneath and db clay to bring you an amazing Lander show, free albums and brand new Lander merchandise for men and women. We’ll be playing all of the songs from the album plus a few more- we’ll also have DJ Ohmega Watts for the after party.

We believe this album deserves a healthy launch so check out the flyer below, listen to the samples, forward them to everyone you know, grab your friends and we’ll hope to see you Later in July… to claim your free cd if nothing else. Later Lander Lovers.
